How Superman Made Me Take Action In My Business

I recently watched the movie Superman at the IMAX Theater. I really enjoy the movie and I like the entire story line of Superman as well. You see, theres something more to Superman than just someone with special abilities. We all have special abilities. You have special abilities. So why does Superman leap tall buildings, stop bullets and catch planes in mid-air? Its not just because he can. Its because he believes he can and takes action on his beliefs.

Belief in what is possible is critically important. In the movies and the comic books, there are lots of firsts for Superman. At some point in Supermans history, he flew for the first time, stopped a train for the first time and even saved a cat from a tree for the first time. He didnt believe he could do those things because he had done them before. He believed in what was possible and then took action. There are many occasions when Superman failed, but that didnt stop him from moving forward. The more he took action, even if he experienced a set-back, the more he developed his self-belief.

Superman also knows who he is. Even though there is no other Superman, he has decided who he is and does the things that a Superman would do. What he chooses to do from one minute to the next comes naturally because he has a clear vision of who he is. This is a critical element of a formula called Be Do Have. The more you focus on developing clarity in what you want to be, the more obvious what you need to do will become. In many instances, you will have no idea what to do but paths seem to clear themselves as you focus on your be.

What else can we learn from Superman? It was once said that we make a living by what we get; we make a life by what we give. Notice how Superman is an example of that. His focus is on serving others. Hes a constant servant. His own rewards are the fruit of that service. In the comic books, Superman even died. He sacrificed himself to ensure the safety of everyone around him.

You dont have to be out there saving people from burning buildings to serve others. You do need to take action though. How does your business serve others? How well does it serve them if youre not building that business and finding more people to help get what they want? The rewards you receive are based on your helping others get what they want.

Taking action is something we do every minute of our lives. For every one of those actions is a reaction. Some people think they are being lazy or procrastinating, but those are forms of action too. They are simply actions that dont lead to positive results. By giving different names to these types of action, many people feel they are no longer responsible for the results they dont like. Results, which are a direct consequence of those actions! Others understand how to manage their actions and therefore manage the reactions they experience. Even relaxing is an action. Its a very good thing to do. The result is rejuvenation and enhanced energy for other types of action.

The potential you have is astounding. Right here, right now. You dont need to wait. You can take action immediately. No matter what you do, you are taking action. Its just a matter of choosing those actions that empower you.
